My cooking experiments

Lately been spending more time in kitchen than ever. Probably due to my new kitchen gadgets. Heres some food I tried to cook or bake. Below are the recipes, Try it, its tasty and fun! =)



MUAH CHEE
after learning how to make this simple snack, you will feel like smacking yourself for spending $2 at pasan malam. it is easy and quick to do. even kieran love it! any non stick pan can do the job.

1 cup glutinous rice flour
3/4 cup of water
Mix well (watery paste)
Peanut coating
Peanut + sugar + sesame seed, finely ground
1. Grease pan with shallot oil (adds fragrance)
2. Pour in paste and cook on very low heat for abt 3 mins
3. See that it has 'set' and roll together to form a lump (using a fork, should be able to flick up the side and roll together easily)
4. Toss around for a while to ensure is totally cooked.
5. Remove and put onto peanut coating, cut to bite size.


MILO MARBLE CAKE 
1. 250 g of salted butter
2. 250 g of self raising flour - no need to sieve
3. 220-250 g of fine sugar
4. 6 eggs - beaten up - no need to separate white and yolk
5. Milo

1. Mix the butter (soften) and sugar in the mixer till the mixture is white
2. Slowly add the eggs into the mixture bit by bit
3. Slowly add the self raising flour into the mixture
4. Milo is optional - depending on your preference 
5. Baking Time using HCP - low fire
6. Glaze the HCP with the butter remains
7. Pour the mixture into the HCP...for marble cake effect, put some milo - use a spoon to stir them evenly
8. On low fire for 8-10 mins
9. Flip over to the othe side for another 8 - 10 mins
10. Mission Complete!!


Lastly, I tried to cook dearie's fav, but failed! look okay taste still ok but texture totally cannot make it.
this is one thats look easy but tricky. will try again! practice makes perfecccct. =)
蚝煎 (OYSTER OMELETTE)
1/2 tsp salt
6 soup spoons water 
2 eggs beaten
1 tbsp oil
1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
1/2 tbsp light soya sauce
1/2 tsp sesame oil
1. Mix the flour, salt and water
2. Put 1 tbsp oil in the pan and pour in the flour mixture
3. Wait till is slightly cooked then pour in the eggs.
4. Once the bottom cooked, divide the eggs into small portion n turn over the other side.
5. Cook till desired texture then put in the oysters.
6. Pour in the Shaoxing wine and light soya sauce on the oysters.
7. Add in the sesame oil once cooked and serve.
